It's the Weekend: Here's Some Fun

It's going to be a glorious Saturday. Cooler than yesterday, when it was 98 degrees, a record for September 24th.  Saturday will be warm, but only in the mid-80s, and a bit breezy, too. (The UV index is going to be 7, so don't forget your sunscreen.)  If you're wondering what to do today, here are three events that will be lots of fun.  Enjoy the weekend!

Turtle Park Back to School BBQ

The 4th Annual Back to School BBQ at Friendship "Turtle" Park is on Saturday, September 25 from 11am-3pm. The BBQ will feature food from the DC Central kitchen, and the event will be filled with activities for the entire family, including a moon bounce, family races, and a raffle with great giveaways from the local Ward 3 business community.

What: Ward 3 Back to School BBQ
Where: Friendship ("Turtle") Park located at 4500 Van Ness Street, NW
When: Saturday, September 25, from 11am-3pm

Taste of Friendship Heights

On Saturday, September 25 from noon to 5pm, there will be the Taste of Friendship Heights, featuring food from area restaurants and fun (as in a moon bounce and more!) For more information visit www.tasteoffriendshipheights.com.

Wilson Aquatic Luau Bash

Join your fellow community members at the Wilson Aquatics Center for free and exciting family-friendly fun!

The event is only available for DC Residents. Everyone must show photo ID and proof of residency upon entering the facility. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult 18 or older. All must be in appropriate swim attire. All other pool rules apply. Event maximum capacity: 300 people.  Location: Wilson Aquatic Center at Wilson High School, 3950 Chesapeake St NW.
