It could rain. That always makes Mondays less palatable. But today will be warmish, depending on your definition of
ish. Figure around 67 for a high, with mostly sunny skies and a breeze. It won't be until Monday night or Tuesday when we'll see rain. And by Tuesday, we're well on our way to the weekend so who cares if it rains?
On this day in 1867, the United States took formal possession of Alaska, after purchasing it from Russia for $7.2 million. Just imagine if we hadn't bought Alaska, and it remained in Russia's hands: Sarah Palin might have been the president of something like Teapartistan.
