Washington Tweets

by Bill Adler

Washington tweets. A lot. The Washington Tweets column is a collection of the most interesting, recent Washington-area tweets. These tweets reveal a candid and fascinating portrait of what is on our collective minds: Twitter gives a snapshot of what we're doing, thinking and hoping for as a group. Washington Tweets is Washington in the raw and appears on www.cleveland-park.com and www.alllifeislocal.com. Bill Adler tweets at @billadler.

Dear Mother Nature, please return this weather to Seattle. Sincerely, Washington, D.C.

Kudos to the organizers of Cleveland Park Day #DC, was a great community event. Yes I'll most definitely help organize next year's festival!

I hate that Michelle Rhee gets such a bad rep, I think the leader of the teachers union is full of crap.

Saw Waiting for "Superman" today & sat in the same row as Michelle Rhee. I haven't cried that much at a movie in ages.

Just saw Waiting for Superman. Reemphasized the drastic need for real school reform and the great work by Geoffrey Canada and Michelle Rhee

Michelle Rhee, you rock... keep fighting for the best for children.

Redskins win, LeBron plays the race card and only digs his hole deeper...a great sports day

oh how i missed you orange line! #dc #metro

I was never issued a parking ticket & got a notice in the mail my fine doubled bc I didn't pay a ticket. DC trynna get me AGAIIIINNNNN

Ugh waiting for laundry to be done so I can start packing so #excited for this trip hopefully the weather won't look bad in #DC

Eye patch lady is a regular at the Adams Morgan Burger King.

@ all DC sports bars: hey guys try something different besides tweeting the same info via the same app at the same time.

I could have easily stayed home in bed!! This rain in #DC is getting old fast!! :-(

We ran over 15 red lights in DC this weekend and nothin happened.

Thank you, #metro, for having the dupont circle escalator out of service so I could get some exercise this morning

Now I smell like chicken (@ Harris Teeter @ Adams Morgan)

Survived Takoma Park Street Fest and had a blast all weekend.

Nothing quite like waking up to a call from the Super Shuttle driver 20 min early. And away we go to Dulles! #omgearly

the Anacostia rowing seems to be going well, the boat house actually looks decent, meanwhile the redskins do work, good times

It's even worse now that I'm living in Washington DC, the bars are so expensive. Big city life I guess.

Eric & I rented a zipcar to hit up whole foods & dupont circle farmers market. Just got home with a TON of food. Lots of cooking this week!!

Spent the weekend in DC. #OneNation event was impressive!

You know you live near DC when you have at least one picture of yourself in front of the cherry blossoms near the Tidal Basin.

  1. How about allowing some anti-Rhee comments to be highlighted....or perhaps some comments about real school reform to be highlighted. Waiting for Superman is pure propaganda for the business school reformers out there. Just because a movie made you cry does not make it TRUE. The enemies are not the teachers or the union.....that is what the movie teaches you to think. Now let's get some real educators create movies about kids and schools....not millionaires and people who would never even think of having their kids in a public school.
