Good Morning: A Golden Thursday

I think I found it: A spell for making it snow.  I'm not sure if it works, but there's only one way to find out. Let's try. If enough people in Washington, DC chant ""Snow, snow, Fall and blow/Softly to the ground" maybe we'll get what Boston got yesterday -- two feet or so of snow.

Meanwhile, it will be cold and windy today: A high in the lower 30's with winds coming from the northwest at about 15 miles per hour, gusting to 30 miles per hour. You know what that feels like.

Speaking of spells, on this day in 1404 Henry IV's Parliament made it illegal for alchemists to use their knowledge to create gold and other precious metals. The fear was that if gold flooded the realm it would destabilize the economy and government.
