The SafeTALK (suicide prevention) training program will be happening at the Washington DCJCC on March 15, hosted by GLOE, the GLBT Outreach & Engagement program.
SafeTALK is a three-hour training program that prepares community members and caregivers to identify persons with thoughts of suicide and connect them to suicide first-aid resources, offered by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
This training is for anyone in a faith-related organization --teachers, clergy, administrators, camp directors-- and is a wonderful opportunity to have staff trained specifically in fielding calls from and communicating with members of your community who may be in crisis and in need of help.
Date: Tuesday, March 15
Times: 9:30 am or 1:30 pm (both sessions are the same)
For more information call 202-777-3253 or visit: http://washingtondcjcc.org/gloe or email halleyc [at] washingtondcjcc.org.
