April 30: Get Your Old Bikes Out of Your Garage and Put Them to Good Use

Do you have an old bike that you haven't ridden in years? It could make all the difference to a boy or girl in a poor country who could ride the bike to school. It could be life changing for the person who receives it.  That's what the Bikes for the World program is all about.

On Saturday, April 30th Sidwell Friends School will be collecting used bicycles (children, youth and
adult bicycles) and cycling-related items, for Bikes for the World.  You can drop off your bikes from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm in the bus parking lot on the Upper School campus located at 3825 Wisconsin
Avenue NW, Washington DC 20016.

A donation of $10 per bicycle is suggested to help defray the costs of shipping the bicycles to communities in need. For more information, see www.bikesfortheworld.org or call David Connell, Director of of Community Service, Upper School, at 202-537-8182 or connelld at sidwell.edu.
