Bring Your Dog to Upshur Park on Saturday, May 21 for Free Dog Health Fair

The Friends of 16th Street Heights partnering with the DC Department of Health, are holding an Animal Health Fair at Upshur Dog Park on Saturday, May 21.

Bring your pooch for:
  • Free vaccinations
  • DC dog and dog park licenses
  • Information about DC's animal laws and emergency preparedness
  • "Ask the veterinarian" Q&A sessions (bring your questions!)
  • an invitation to become a part of the Friends of 16th Street Heights
  • News and information about the Upshur Dog Park community (become a member!)
  • Free dog treats!
Here are the details:

Animal Health Fair
Saturday, May 21
9:00 am - 12 noon
Upshur Dog Park
4300 Arkansas Avenue, NW
Washington, DC 20011

To get a dog park license at the fair, you can write a check or bring a money order payable to "DC Treasurer" -- the cost is $15 for a spayed or neutered dog and $50 for an unspayed or unneutered dog. (Sorry, but no cash or credit card payments accepted.)

If your pet has been vaccinated before, please bring the vaccination records.

Cats and dogs must be at least three months old to receive a rabies vaccination.

All pets must be brought by a responsible adult. Dogs must be secured on a leash and cats must be secured in a carrier box.

District law requires that all cats and dogs over four months old be vaccinated against rabies and that all dogs be licensed and wear the license tag.

Here's to the health of your pet!
