Jungle June Meow Mixer on Wednesday

Love cats? Not sure if you're a cat person but would like to learn more about them? Come to this free event at the Washington Humane Society:

Have you always wanted a lion or a tiger? We'll be featuring their domestic cousin--the adorable, adoptable cat at our Jungle June Meow Mixer, this Wednesday from 7-9pm at the Washington Humane Society's Behavior and Learning Center.

In appearance, domestic cats are similar to their wild relatives, and many of their inherent behaviors, such as hunting and other activity patterns, remain essentially unchanged from their ancestral form. Aside from wild and domestic cats both being carnivores, they also have the same movements. The way they walk, stalk, pounce, and lay are exactly the same! Thankfully domestic cats are much cuddlier than a lion when they're lying next to you!

Come mingle with WHS adoptable cats, foster parents, staff, and volunteers while enjoying light refreshments during this special event to mark the end of Adopt-A-Cat Month. Don't forget that all WHS cats 2 years and older have no adoption fees for the rest of June!

Jungle June Meow Mixer Wednesday, June 29, 7-9pm 7315 Georgia Avenue, NW Open entry, although donations are always appreciated. Visit www.washhumane.org.
