Strange Crime Story of the Week: Head Stomping in Georgetown

On Sunday there were some violent goings-on worthy of "A Clockwork Orange." Here's the report from Lieutenant John M. Hedgecock of the Second District MPD:

On Sunday, September 4, 2011, at approximately 3:00 AM, in the 1200 block of 35th Street, NW, the victim, an adult male, reported that he became involved in a heated verbal exchange with two unknown suspects. During the exchange one of the suspects lifted the victim off the ground, throwing him face first onto the pavement. While the victim was down, the second suspect began to repeatedly stomp on the victim's head and body. A witness to the assault interceded, whereupon the suspects fled. The suspects were last seen fleeing on foot northbound on 35th Street. The victim sustained multiple injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The suspects are described as follows:

Suspect #1: White Male, Early 20’s, 200 lbs, with an athletic or muscular build. No definitive clothing description could be obtained.

Suspect #2: White Male, Early 20’s, 200 lbs, with an athletic or muscular build. This suspect was described as having dark hair. Again, no definitive clothing description could be obtained.

This is an open investigation. Anyone having any information regarding this assault is asked to contact the Second District Detectives Office on 202-730-1903, or our Command information Center on 202-727-9099.

We add our own plea for anyone with information to come forward. We really want these head-stompers off the street, lest we run into them in a dark alley!
