These tweets reveal a candid and fascinating portrait of what is on our collective minds: Twitter gives a snapshot of what we're doing, thinking and hoping for. Washington Tweets is Washington in the raw. Spot or write a great tweet? Send it to tweets (at) fastmail (dot) net for consideration for the next Washington Tweets column. 1. Regarding dcist_martin's tweet...

How about just turning bars and liquor stores into 24 hour venues? The all-hours drinkers won't be sober enough to know that they're paying through the nose in taxes. Meanwhile, those of us who don't drink can sit at home, where it's quiet and safe, while others are chipping in our "share" of alcoholic tax revenue.
