Compilation of A/C Installers

All Life Is Local has a companion listserv, www.cleveland-park.com, which regularly receives queries from members looking for recommendations. From time to time on All Life Is Local, we like to post a compilation of recent, helpful recommendations on a particular topic on the listserv -- in this case, air conditioning installation and repair.

---

* Call Marlon Perez at HD Johnson on MacArthur Blvd -- they're not the cheapest but definitely the best. I've had 3-4 others over the 20 years I have owned my house. For the last five or six years I won't even consider another plumber or HVAC company: www.hdjohnson.net/residential_services.html

* I have had good service from Cropp-Metcalf and Nick Manopoulos:  www.croppmetcalfe.com

* After a lot of research I went with Energy Systems, Inc., (301) 384-1789. They installed new a/c and furnace and did ductwork. They were excellent all around.

* We've had good experience with BMC Installation Heating & A/C. They installed two new A/C units for us last year. www.bmcmyers.com/

* My wife and I have used Fry Plumbing, Heating, Ventilating, & Air Conditioning for our house and both our businesses for more years that I can remember. We have been very, very happy with all aspects of their service: response, pricing, courtesy, etc. They are really helpful and very friendly! Call them at 202-543-4884 and ask for the managers: Mike or Chase Fry. (If they're not there, Pat Clary can help you).

* Ron Gallant
Argent Heating and Cooling
(240) 398-7006
Ron@argent-llc.com

I've dealt with a lot of HVAC folks over the last twenty years and no one else even comes close to Ron's level of service. His proposals arrive within a day by email. He works with you to lower the price and often recommends fixes instead of complete replacements. He's knowledgeable about green tech and is also a nice guy.

* I used Michael Bonsby last year: 301-990-7970. I think I got appropriate guidance and so far all seems like a good choice.

* Rowan A/C Hyattsville, MD, www.rowanhvac.com

* I highly recommend Thomas E. Clark. Mike Hartman is the owner and he is fantastic. His team is top notch! His estimator Warren was very thorough and made recommendations that other contractors missed. The crew that they sent was very professional, clean and quiet. They put an entire system in our attic and installed some ducts through our 2nd floor. They cleaned up at the end of every day which I really appreciated. Their price was a little bit higher than others we received, but they came highly recommended. They did not disappoint. It was worth a little extra.

* We have used WB Maske, 301-927-3412 for over 20 years and they have replaced our AC system and Heating system. They also design and redesign duct work and work on roofs and gutters. We have never had anything but great results from them.
