I'm just back from my vacation in the Adirondacks of upstate NY and the Green Mountains of Vermont. I returned on a delayed flight, due to thunderstorms in DC. Now I'm looking at the weather forecast for tomorrow, Monday, July 28, through the end of the month.
All I can say is "Ugh".
I've just enjoyed a week of low 70 to mid-70s for the high each day -- and one day in the low 80s, which was considered quite hot! There was a rain shower one morning but but by the afternoon the sun was peeking out from behind some puffy white clouds in a soft blue sky. Humidity? What is that? A light breeze kept the air fresh and clear.
My iPhone is set to give me the DC weather each day, no matter where I am in the world, and so I can tell you, every day that was in the 90s here while it was in the 70s where I was, could be measured on the Schadenfreude temperature scale. For example, on Thursday July 24 the high was 97°SF in Washington. It was 81°SF in Vermont.
And it looked like this:
(It just looks like the hydrangeas are blocking the doorway, but they're on the side.)
It was wonderful for a week, but despite the difference in degrees SF, I'd still rather live year-round in Cleveland Park!

Still Lfe with Robin is published on the Cleveland Park Listserv and on All Life Is Local, usually on Saturdays but this week it was delayed until I got back from my vacation today, Sunday.
