Community-Wide Celebration Saturday, September 20
The annual Chevy Chase DC Day celebration will be held at the Chevy Chase Commons area on the grounds of the Chevy Chase Neighborhood Library and the Community Center and nearby on Connecticut Avenue. This year's event is being organized by the Chevy Chase Community Association - with the support of community organizations such as Main Street and ANC 3/4G.
Chevy Chase Day will take place on Saturday, Sept. 20 from 1- 4 pm and will include the following free events.
- Face painting, balloon twisting, a juggler, a caricature artist, a bounce house, plus other activities
- Chevy Chase Artists (Ch/Art) kids’ art activity
- Special events include dance performance by Ballet Elite (2 pm), martial arts demonstration by Infinity Martial Arts (3 pm), Zumba with Ashley (2:15 pm), and a fencing event by the Chevy Chase Fencing Club (2:30).
- Presentation by Civil War reenactor and historical interpreter - Marquett Milton (3:30 pm)
- Free ice cream, popcorn, and other snacks
- Sidewalk sale at Child’s Play Toys & Books
- Kids can explore a police car and big rig firetruck
- Fire department will demonstrate Hands Free CPR
- Dylan Lizza Quartet will provide music
- Ward 3 Councilmember Matt Frumin and Ward 4 Councilmember Janeese Lewis George (1:30 – 2:00 pm)
- Meet representatives from local community groups.
The mission of the CCCA is to foster community engagement and improve the quality of life in both our neighborhood and our city.
