Get Out! Take Your Pick of 3 Festivals on Saturday, October 4....or Take All 3

Normally I pick ONE event for the Get Out! column but today it was so hard to choose, so I went with three events.

One is near and one is far, and another is even farther.

Let's start with the near one:

Tregaron Unplugged - Free Music Event

Saturday, October 4, 2025, 3:00 p.m.

Tregaron Conservancy (3100 Macomb St. NW, Washington, DC 20008)

Join us for an afternoon of music in nature, co-hosted with Washington Performing Arts. Seven exceptional artists will perform in “listening rooms” throughout the park. New this year: sips and snacks! Cork Wine Bar will be offering wines by the glass and cheese or cheese/charcuterie boxes for purchase.

Now for the far one -- Eckington/Noma neighborhood, NE:

DC Home Rule Music Festival: Rooted in Legacy, Moving to the Rhythm of Tomorrow

On Saturday, October 4, 2025, the Home Rule Music Festival returns for Part II of this year’s celebration—transforming Alethia Tanner Park into a vibrant stage for DC’s rich and diverse musical heritage. From 1-9pm audiences will enjoy an electrifying day of live performances, DJs, food, and community. Free and open to the public, the Home Rule Music Festival is more than just a concert—it’s a community gathering that uplifts local artists, celebrates cultural diversity, and honors the city’s musical legacy. In addition to music, festival-goers can enjoy food trucks, local vendors, family-friendly activities, and plenty of space to relax and connect.

Octoberfest at the Wharf - including the 13th Annual Running of the Dachshunds (Wiener Dog Race)

Saturday, October 4, 2025 - 2 - 7 PM

Saturday, October 4, 2-5pm: Wiener 500 Dachshund Dash

Cheer on the dogs competing in the 13th Annual Wiener 500 Dachshund Dash to benefit Rural Dog Rescue.
