Good Morning: A Warm Sunday

After a overnight with the temperature dropping to the lower 50's, Sunday will see the mid 70's. And then there's a good chance of rain for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Not bad timing weatherwise. Not bad at all.

On this day in 1897 the first regularly published comic strip, The Yellow Kid, appeared in The New York Journal American, and then in the World. People called the style of these two papers "yellow kid journalism," which eventually became "yellow journalism," a shorthand for sensationalist journalism than focused on profit.
