I recommend Robert Morshauser (www.TheRightCliq.com -- 202-986-7571.) He's great, prompt and reasonable priced, and has dealt successfully with both hardware and software issues for me. He was able to come quickly, bring and do what was needed and leave me with a "like new" computer and with very reasonable prices. He was wonderful.

Our companion email list, the Cleveland Park Listserv, is a treasure trove of recommendations. We want to share on All Life Is Local, on a periodic basis, the best recommendations that have been posted on the Cleveland Park Listserv. You'll be able to search All Life Is Local for "contractor," "plumber," "computer tech," "auto body shop" -- whatever you need. The search box, in case you have trouble finding it, is to the right and down a bit.

I'm not sure if his name is already on the CP recommended list, but I would suggest using Brian Wilkinson (wilkibrian@gmail.com). By day, he works as the education technology coordinator at a local private school, but in the evenings and weekends he assists people with home computing problems. He is A+ certified (which is a certification in hardware and operating system troubleshooting) and is proficient on both Windows and PC platforms. He is patient, prompt and helpful and he charges far less than what the tech squad companies do ($55 per hour). He's super reliable.
