Writing Awards Open House for 7th - 12th Graders

An exciting opportunity for teen writers: The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards is the largest, most prestigious recognition program for teen writers in the country.

Writopia Lab DC is bringing this outstanding program to greater Washington and is now accepting submissions. Interested 7th - 12th graders are invited to a Writing Awards Open House to help them prepare submissions for this year's contest:

Date: Thursday, 10/28/10
Time: 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.
Location: Writopia Lab DC at Wisconsin Avenue Baptist Church, 3920 Alton Place, NW

At this open house, students will:

• Learn how to submit their work
• Generate story ideas for submissions and/or
• Get feedback on partial or completed pieces from experienced writers, teachers, and contest judges
