64°F! That was the high in Washington, DC today. Sometime next week we should see temperatures in the mid-seventies. What a relief!
Just a few days ago (Monday, February 23), we were under anywhere from two to four inches of snow (it varied a lot, even within DC), but at least we escaped the big the white-out that shut down all the other big cities along I-95 to our north.
Friends and relations in New York City got a snow day, and a couple of them sent me the photos below. I thought I'd pass them along for one last look at the snowiest winter in almost 30 years. (The winter of 1995-1996 holds the record.)
These four photos are among 17 new photos, all taken in Astoria, Queens, New York on the day after the "Bomb Cyclone Blizzard of '26."
To see all 17 photos go to the PHOTOS section of the Cleveland Park Listserv and click on the album Snowfall, snow art, and winter scenes.
You can add your own photos, too. The instructions to upload photos are at the end of Message #230198 .
