Kareem Abdul Jabbar Speaking at UDC on February 14

Kareem Abdul Jabbar, considered one of the greatest athletes in American history, will speak at the University of the District of Columbia on Monday, February 14, 2011.  Jabbar will speak with UDC and Wilson High School students on basketball, history and life lessons.  He will also preview an upcoming documentary called On the Shoulders of Giants, based on Jabbar's book about the New York Renaissance Big Five (the "Harlem Rens") -- the greatest basketball team you never heard of.

"UDC welcomes this true giant to our campus," said Dr. Allen L. Sessoms, President of the University System of the District of Columbia.  "His message to our youth is a positive one and one from which we can all learn."

Ted Leonsis Speaking at UDC on Thursday

Washington Sports icon, business leader and author (The Business of Happiness) Ted Leonsis will speak at the University of the District of Columbia on Thursday, December 2nd at 11:00 AM in the UDC Auditorium.

Ted Leonsis is the owner of the Washington Capitals, Wizards and Mystics and the former Vice Chairman and President of AOL.  He'll be speaking about his new book, The Business of Happiness: 6 Secrets to Extraordinary Success in Work and Life.

Admission is free and open to all.
