Recommended: Indoor Painter

I have the perfect painter for this job.  Beau Cassity has been working with my husband (who is an architect) on projects for years.  Meticulous is certainly a word I would use to describe Beau. He would often (politely) police other people on my husband's jobs who were doing sloppy work or cutting corners.  He has been working on our home projects for 12 years, and even coordinated a green paint demonstration project at our home with Benjamin Moore when they were coming out with their new paint line.  He is an expert painter that always does a quality painting job.  Because of his reputation, there is sometimes a (small) wait for his services, but he is well worth it.

You'll be able to search All Life Is Local for "contractor," "plumber," "computer tech," "auto body shop" -- whatever you need. The search box, in case you have trouble finding it, is to the right and down a bit.

It may take a village to raise a child, but after recently selling our house, I think it takes a village to sell a house and move. We were so lucky to have tremendous help, much of which I found through this listserv. Thinking it might be helpful to some, I compiled a list of recommendations to help those who might be in similar situations.

We had help with house painting (both interior and exterior), a handyman, window washers, de-cluttering and moving, as well as an inspection and a real estate agent for the sale, all of whom I would highly recommend.

For painting, we used Orlando Angel, whose name I found through this listserv. Orlando was such a pleasure to work with and really came through for us. We were on a tight timeline, wanting to get our house on the market as quickly as possible. He insured a quick turn around by having plenty of workers on the job. He and his crew were careful, had a high level of attention to detail and were reasonably priced. Orlando can be reached at oeangel @ aol.com.
