Honoring Former DC Councilmembers, Sept. 7

The former Ward 3 members of the DC Council will be installed as the first three members of the Ward 3 Community Hall of Fame on Tuesday, September 7.  The event is sponsored by the Ward Three Democratic Committee.  Former Councilmembers Polly Shackleton, Jim Nathanson, and Kathy Patterson will be installed that evening as part of a special celebration called: "Building Bridges For A Better Community."

On September 7th, the 1st Annual Polly Shackleton Community Service Award recognizing the legacy of Ward 3's first elected Councilmember and pioneer of DC home rule also will be awarded that evening to former Mayor Anthony Williams.  The festive event will be held at Guapos Tenleytown (Fiesta Room) from 6:30-8 PM.  The public is invited to attend. You can help the homeless by bringing an article of clothing or you can help a child by bringing a toy that can be distributed during the holiday season.  There is no charge for attending.
