Plumbers, Electricians, Computer Techs, Oh My -- And Recommending a Great Plumber

Our companion email list, the Cleveland Park Listserv, is a treasure trove of recommendations. Need a plumber at 10am on Sunday or an electrician who can wire up your home fusion reactor? The Cleveland Park Listserv will  let you find that person.

While it would be overwhelming to post all of the recommendations for home repair people on All Life Is Local, we wanted to share with you, on a periodic basis, the best recommendations that have been posted on the Cleveland Park Listserv. You'll be able to search All Life Is Local for "contractor," "plumber," "auto body shop" -- whatever you need. The search box, in case you have trouble finding it, is to the right and down a bit.
Many people on the ListServ have taken my May 2009 suggestion to use our plumber, Guillermo Diaz. He came by again last week to repair some plumbing problems in our house and told us that his cell phone number has changed to (410) 253-8097. (One neighbor had just told me that she had been trying to reach him for several weeks but that his old phone number didn't work.)
Guillermo works part-time for a plumbing company and then freelances on his own after 2 or 3 PM, assisted by his two nephews, both of whom are also employed as plumbers by the same company that employs Guillermo. He charges $75 per hour, and that price includes the help of one or both of his nephews (depending upon whether he thinks one or both are needed). He is very reasonably priced. He is also very trustworthy, cheerful, and reliable.
