Washington Tweets

Washington tweets. A lot. The Washington Tweets column is a collection of the most interesting, recent Washington-area tweets. These tweets reveal a candid and fascinating portrait of what is on our collective minds: Twitter gives a snapshot of what we're doing, thinking and hoping for as a group. Washington Tweets is Washington in the raw. Bill Adler tweets at @billadler.

Glad we enjoyed the weather this weekend!! "peak heat index forecast for DC Wed-Sun: 103, 109, 111, 111, 106" #HOT

I have reached the point of being officially pissed about having to go to Florida, but at least I will get away from DC heat.

The heat index in DC is 103 right now. I am hailing a cab even though at this hour it'd be faster just to walk. #thefleshisweak

and all of a sudden I became good enough with directions and food in DC for lost tourists.

I need to go to dc and party, they know how to have funnn

Someone please extend the Green Line to Waldorf. Or, that light rail plan from 15 years ago. Traffic driving to Branch Ave is insane. #wmata

Friend reports he is aboard #wmata #hotcar 5004, 7th car of a Vienna-bound train @Metro Ctr. Operator is not answering intercom.

every time i hang out in Adams Morgan, i'm both fascinated and horrified by what i experience.

DC: Too hot to bike or walk, too dysfunctional to have a working transit system #wmata #iheartny

Green, my favorite color, an elusive hue, at the Textile Museum. I'm going this weekend. #travel #dc

Had to re-learn the NYC subway over the weekend. Thank goodness I didn't get lost. The DC Metro is so small in comparison.

just realized this is my last 'full' week in much to do: work, party, work, party, and work some more..#bittersweet

Just a friendly reminder /// "Assaulting a police officer" may not mean what you think it means: via @ggwash

What's a DC museum the tourists don't know about? One where I won't have to fight a 1000 strollers and fat people in American flag t-shirts?

The Cleveland Park Listserv has passed the 11,000 member mark! #DC #clevelandpark

Wonderful dinner tonight with dear friend and whole family, rooftop in Adams Morgan, D.C. at Zabb.

Two Saturdays in a row in Adams Morgan and I found parking in front of where I'm going. Score! (@ Adams Morgan
