Green Living Expo DC on September 24 from 10am - 2pm at UDC Plaza/Van Ness Metro

We are happy to pass along the announcement for this free expo on Saturday:

What makes a DC neighborhood sustainable? At Green Living Expo DC, a free, community-organized event on Saturday, September 24 from 10 am to 2 pm on UDC Plaza/Van Ness Metro, over 40 exhibitors, workshops and eco-tours will offer answers, from bike lanes, home energy-saving resources and government grants, to green roofs, urban forests, and more. Attendees can consult with environmental experts while enjoying kids' activities, live music and a farmer's market. They can participate in workshops and eco-tours.

Green Living Expo DC grew out of a DC Office of Planning pilot program that helped shape Mayor Vincent Gray's current "Start in September" citywide sustainability program. EXPO sponsors include community groups and neighborhood associations, ANC 3F, DC Office of Planning, and the Planning & Sustainability program at UDC, where Expo rounds out UDC's "Green Week."

For more information, please click on the website, whee you can also find updated lists of sponsors, contacts, and participants/exhibitors, and you can sign up for eco-tours.

The rain date for this event is Sunday, September 25.
