Stay At Home Dads Convention October 8 in Alexandria

We were glad to see that Stay At Home Dads exist in large enough numbers to have a convention. It's on October 8th in Alexandria.  All the pertinent information is below, courtesy of Paxton Helms of DC Metro Dads, who posted the announcement on the New Hill East Yahoogroup. Paxton writes:

"It's going to be a great event with terrific speakers and activities (including the Thursday and Friday before the convention) and I encourage you to register and attend whether you are a stay at home dad or not."

Friday, October 7th, 9am-4pm – Tours of our Nation's Capital
5:30-7:30pm – Meet & Greet, Embassy Suites of Alexandria

Saturday, October 8th, 8:30am-5pm – Convention Events

Keynote: "Listening to our Wives: What Working Women Say about At-Home Dads"
Dr. Aaron Rochlen, Associate Professor in Counseling Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin, will discuss the practical implications of his recently published study of women married to at-home dads. Show this to your spouse!

Positive Discipline
Dr. Rene Hackney, Developmental Psychologist and founder of Parenting Playgroups teaches parenting workshops across the DC area. She will discuss practical discipline approaches for our kids. Excellent speaker for anyone struggling with discipline issues at home.

Supporting Early Literacy
