Strange Crimes from the Second District Police Report

Of the crimes noted in MPD 2D Watch Commander Victor Baschnewitz's report last week, these two stood out: 

Four Guys Beating Up One Over Comments Made to Suspect's Girlfriend

On Sunday, October 16, 2011, at 12:10am a Simple Assault offence occurred in the area of 3200 block of Wisconsin Avenue NW (PSA 204) and was subsequently reported to the MPD.

The witness observed four suspects beating a fifth male victim on the sidewalk in the listed area. Prior to the assault, the victim and one of the suspects were arguing over comments made toward the suspect's girlfriend. After the assault, all four suspects got into a cab and left the area.

The suspects were described as:
#1 and #2: Unknown Ethnicity/Males, 32-38 years of age, 5'9"-6'0", 160-170 lbs.
#3 and #4-No description provided


Brothers Arrested in Public Fistfight

On Sunday, October 16, 2011, at 3:15am a Felony Assault offence occurred in the area of 4900 block of Butterworth St., NW (PSA 202) and was subsequently reported to the MPD.

The victims involved in this offense are siblings and each assaulted the other with closed fists. Both suspects were arrested and charged accordingly. This is a closed case.
