Still Life with Robin: Cleveland Park from A to Z

I've been thinking it would be fun to have an alphabet book of Cleveland Park. It would be so easy to put together, as the neighborhood has a run of east-west streets named for two syllable words from the middle to almost the end of the alphabet. And there's no shortage of first-half-of-the-alphabet words associated with Cleveland Park to take us from A to K.

One of these days I may lay it all out as a real picture book, but in the meantime, here's the A to Z list of my Cleveland Park Alphabet:

A is for ATOMIC BILLIARDS

B is for BYBLOS DELI

C is for the CONNECTICUT AVENUE

D is for DOLAN UYGHUR

E is for ELLA BENNET SHERMAN, designer/developer of many classic cottages in the neighborhood

F is for the FOUR P's (gone but not forgotten!)

G is for the GIANT at Cathedral Commons

H is for HISTORIC DISTRICT

I is for INDIA HOUSE, Ambassador's Residence (end of Macomb St)

J is for JOHN EATON SCHOOL

K is for KLINGLE VALLEY TRAIL

L is for LOWELL ST

M is for MACOMB ST

N is for NEWARK ST

O is for ORDWAY ST

P is for PORTER ST

Q is for QUEBEC ST

R is for RODMAN ST

S is for SEDGWICK ST

T is for TILDEN ST

U is for UPTOWN THEATRE

V is for VACE's ITALIAN DELI

W is for WISCONSIN AVE

X is for the X-WALK with the HawK SIGNAL on Connecticut Ave

Y is for YES!

Z is for the ZOO (and while it's technically in Woodley Park, you should get off at the Cleveland Park Metro to get there!)
