Get Out! Do the Uptown Shuffle on Sunday, June 4 at Park'n'Shop, 12-4 PM

Cleveland Park Main Street and Cleveland Park Community Association present the “Uptown Shuffle” on Sunday, June 4th from noon - 4 pm at Sam’s Park & Shop at 3505 Connecticut Avenue NW. This free outdoor event will showcase local restaurants, music, dancing, raffle prizes from nearby retailers, and other exciting activities.

Participating businesses and organizations include: 3321 Bistro, Angelina’s arts y crafts, All Fired Up, Captain Cookie & the Milkman, City Paws Animal Hospital, Cleveland Park Community Association, Cleveland & Woodley Park Village, Cleveland Park Public Library, Down2EarthPottery, European Wax Center, Flamenco 4 Kids, Foundation Fitness Cleveland Park, Indiblossom by Anuradha Mehra, Laredo Mexican Restaurant, and Orangetheory Fitness Cleveland Park. 

Free dance classes provided by Foundation Fitness and Gotta Swing, musical performances by School of Rock!

1pm: Free Community Class

2pm: Free Live Show Featuring Flamenco 4 Kids!™

At the event, attendees will have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win fantastic prizes from various local retailers, including: 3321 Bistro, All Fired Up, Angelina’s arts y crafts, Captain Cookie and the Milkman, City Paws Animal Hospital, Cleveland Park Main Street, Down2Earth Pottery, Enjoyee Life Ice, European Wax Center, Flamenco 4 Kids, Indiblossom by Anuradha Mehra, Laredo Mexican Restaurant, Orangetheory Fitness Cleveland Park, Transcendence-Perfection-Bliss of the Beyond and Weygandt Wines.

DUPONT ART WALK

Can't wait till Sunday to get out & enjoy the best of the neighborhood? Get a jump on your weekend fun with an exploration of art in and around Dupont Circle on Friday night. It's the First Friday Dupont Art Walk

ArtWalk Dupont takes place on the first Friday of each month and features the Dupont Circle arts community, as well as BID businesses. The monthly event includes a gallery walk, live performances, and public art activations.

We hope you will join us on Friday, June 2nd from 6-8 PM as we celebrate the arts! FREE.

How to Attend

First Friday is a free art walk.  Participants can stop by any of the participating art galleries listed on the map from 6-8pm on the First Friday of each month.  The gallery walk will take place in the above arts organizations, which are situated throughout the greater Dupont Circle neighborhood.

WASHINGTON FOLK FESTIVAL

So we've taken care of Friday night and Sunday afternoon. But what about Saturday, June 3? Do you
like FOLK MUSIC? Head on out to the Washington Folk Festival at Glen Echo Park on Saturday June 3, from 12 - 7 PM. It's on Sunday, too, same hours -- but if you go to Glen Echo on Sunday, be sure to stop by the Uptown Shuffle on your way out there.

The Washington Folk Festival at historic Glen Echo Park returns for the 41st year for this local tradition. The Festival will run from 12 noon to 7 pm on Saturday and Sunday, June 3 and 4.

This FREE, rain-or-shine event is a celebration of the many cultural traditions that are a part of our greater Washington community.

You’ll experience a variety of American music styles like bluegrass, honkytonk, blues, swing jazz, old-timey, rockabilly, skiffle, and gospel. From abroad, savor offerings from the British Isles, Mexico, North India, Scandinavia, Afghanistan, Greece, Italy, Slovakia, Paraguay, Spain, the Balkans, and more. Prepare to move with dances including English country, contra, klezmer, bal folk, waltz, tango, Cajun, Middle Eastern, Bulgarian, and swing, with fantastic bands and expert callers who know their stuff.

With over 85 hours of performances in multiple performance areas, there is something for everyone at the Washington Folk Festival.
