If you're traveling by Metro this weekend, allow extra time: Red Line trains between Shady Grove and Glenmont will operate every 24 minutes throughout the weekend because of work on the Red Line.

Friday, April 27, 1 PM to 4 PM and Saturday, April 28 9 PM to 4 PM, National Arboretum Annual Garden Fair & Plant Sale featuring new, rare and hard to find plants. Over 600 books on horticulture, garden design, landscape architecture and garden travel from the library of the late Cleveland Park garden designer, Sally Boasberg will be on sale as well as garden-related items from many

Free on-site shredding of personal documents (limit of five boxes of paper, please) and family fun hosted by PNC Bank in Chevy Chase DC, at 5530 Connecticut Avenue, NW. Saturday, April 28, 1 PM - 8 PM, Kingman Island Bluegrass and Folk Festival. Join some of the DC area's best local bluegrass bands for a day of music, food and exploration on Kingman Island to celebrate the revitalization of the Anacostia River.
