Stefan Fatsis, Author of Word Freak, to Speak at Tenley Library on May 9

Interested in Scrabble and other competitive games and sports?  Then come to hear Stefan Fatsis, author of Word Freak: Heartbreak, Triumph, Genius, and Obsession in the World of Competitive Scrabble Players, speak at the  Tenley-Friendship Library on Wednesday, May 9, at 7 pm

Fatsis recently led fourteen DC students at the National School Scrabble Championship

 Word Freak was recently published in a 10th-anniversary edition. Fatsis is also the author of A Few Seconds of Panic: A Sportswriter Plays in the NFL, and his reporting has appeared in the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, Sports Illustrated, Slate, the Washington Post, and many other publications. 

As part of the Friends of the Tenley-Friendship Library Author Series, please join us at the library for an evening with Stefan Fatsis. Fresh off of leading 14 D.C. students at the National School Scrabble Championship and the first-ever citywide D.C. Public School Scrabble Championship, Stefan will be speaking about the history and culture of Scrabble. 

The Tenley-Friendship Neighborhood Library is located at the corner of Wisconsin Avenue and Albemarle, just across the street from the Tenleytown Metrorail station. This talk will be held in the large meeting room upstairs. Hope to see you there!
