Get Out! Put Your Helmet On - It's Bike to Work Day on Friday!

by Peggy Robin

You don't need to commute to an office to celebrate Bike to Work Day. It's fine to get out and go biking just for the exercise, or do some light shopping by bicycle, or just go for a ride.

If you ditch the car for a two-wheeler tomorrow morning, be sure to stop off at one of the many available Bike-to-Work Pit Stops - click on https://www.biketoworkmetrodc.org/find-your-pit-stop and scroll down to the map at the bottom and enlarge it until you see the one nearest you.

If you are one of the first 15,000 to register, you will get a free T-shirt!
Go to: https://www.biketoworkmetrodc.org/

For those in Cleveland Park/Cathedral Heights vicinity, our local Bike to Work Pit Stop (from 7 -9 AM) is Conte's Bike Shop, 3410 Wisconsin Ave NW Washington, DC 20016, 703-347-5948, Joe Chaale, J.chaale@contebikes.com . See https://www.biketoworkmetrodc.org/cathedral-heights

For more info about National Bike to Work Day (such as this fun fact: this special day has been observed annually on the third Friday in May since 1955!),

P.S. It will be sunny tomorrow and will start out pleasant, in the mid-seventies in the morning, but it is supposed to reach a high of 89 degrees by mid-afternoon -- so take that into account as  you plan your ride!

The "Get Out!" event of the week is published on the Cleveland Park Listserv and on All Life Is Local on Thursdays.
