Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Sat, April 28

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has scheduled the semi-annual National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day, which will take place on Saturday, April 28, 2012, from 10am to 2pm.

This is a great opportunity for those who missed the previous events, or who have subsequently accumulated unwanted, unused prescription drugs, to safely dispose of those medications. 

To find the drug take-back location most convenient for you, visit: 

www.deadiversion.usdoj.gov/drug_disposal/takeback/ and then click on the "Collection Site Locator" link (about halfway down the page) or go directly to: http://1.usa.gov/ITM8ec. 

Once you are on the Collection Site Locator page, enter your zip code and click submit to find the nearest site. The Second District Police Station (at Idaho Avenue & Newark Street) and UDC (at 4200 Connecticut Avenue) are both participating sites in the neighborhood.

Dump Your Expired Medicines Safely at DEA Drug Take-back Day, April 30

On September 25, 2010 the Drug Enforcement Agency organized a drug take-back day nationwide. Washington, DC residents were able to drop off unwanted or expired prescription drugs at the local police stations. That effort was such a success that the DEA has announced another nationwide drug take-back day on April 30, 2011 from 10 AM to 2 PM.
