Submit Your Creative Work Featuring Public School Buildings to National Photo & Essay Contest

Here's a great opportunity for anyone who cares about public school buildings or has a story to tell in words or pictures to submit their work to a national contest, sponsored by Through Your Lens.  The deadline for entry is March 7.

Students, teachers, and community members are invited to submit their stories and photos of school building conditions. By sharing what is seen everyday at your neighborhood schools, you will be building support for high-quality facility conditions at your local schools. Your pictures and essays will provide your elected leaders with a window into the conditions students, teachers and community members experience every day, and will help to encourage debate about state and federal funding for public school repair, renovation and construction.

Selected photos and stories will be shown at a special exhibition in Washington, DC and many more entries will be published in a book titled Through Your Lens and in an online gallery.

Five student winners will also receive a high-definition digital camcorder.
